Glycopyrrolate, an antimuscarinic agent used in anesthesia as a preoperative medication in order to reduce salivary, tracheobronchial, and pharyngeal secretions, and decreasing the acidity of gastric secretion.
It is used to treat GI (gastrointestinal) ulcers.
In surgery, it is used to lower secretions such as saliva.
Glycopyrrolate lowers acid secretion in the stomach.

Glycopyrrolate inhibits the action of acetylcholine on structures innervated by postganglionic cholinergic nerves and on smooth muscles that respond to acetylcholine but lack cholinergic innervation.
